Bullfrog

In the musical, "Steel Town" young David Henderson dreams of escape and a carreer in music with his band. The band I was in whilst an apprentice at Consett Steel Works  was called Bullfrog. Here are some pictures of my band. By strange coincidence the bands roadie from that time Les Scurr, found me via the Internet after some 30 years and has promised to send some pictures and thoughts from Consett. Hopefully we'll hear some tales of a heady mix of steel works and rock n roll! Les has been in touch with the other roadie/mate/helper: Wilf who also still lives in Consett. Wilf and Les have promised to be "roadies" for the shows in Consett. Looks like the rock n roll train is about to hit town!

Any band worth their salt has to have a progression of "managers" usually making wild claims of imminent stardom. For a while we had an Australian guy called ... wait for it: Skippy! It was his idea that we create some publicity for ourselves by playing in Eldon Square in Newcastle. This was old Eldon Square before the shopping centre was built. We did this one Saturday afternoon (see below) and Skippy skipped town shortly after. Later we had a manager who was a Karate instructor but that's another story.
